If we're going by the games (not counting remakes), Gen IV is my least favorite Gen, without question. It did add the Physical/Special split, which is one of the best additions to the series, and Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver were my favorite Pokémon games for a long time.

I personally consider Platinum to be my second favourite game of all time.

Diamond/Pearl: Huge disappointment. Platinum: *MUCH* better. HeartGold/SoulSilver: A bit too inventive, but still great.

Platinum iz best, go do Fawn ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis You don't even have to bother with Diamond/Pearl. In fact, you shouldn't.

to be blunt gen 4 is my second least favorite gen mostly due to A LOT of bad nostalgia What caused the bad nostalgia? call me a dunce if you want but after I got the forth gym badge (keep in mind it was Diamond not platinum) I was completely and utterly lost in where I had to go next so I went in circles so many times I lost count I eventually found where I had to go (mostly because I thought the gym in a town before where you get the fourth badge wasn't a gym you had to go to) after I got the rest of the badges I headed for victory road......where I got my ass handed to so many times I was ready to lose it and when I finally got the end and beat my rival and started the elite four after I got the second round me and my team were crushed with ease my team from what I recall was (sorry for any misspelling) infernape luxray rosearade starapter stellix and lucario and seeing as I didn't know the type table to its fullest the only pokemon I had that stood a fighting chance from what I knew was rosearade which went down with ease
all this frustration added up to a lot of hate thankfully soul silver helped me stay with the franchise
